Seed Crushing
Gokul Overseas has a seed crushing capacity of 600 TPD (Tons per day)
Castor seeds are traditionally crushed in traditional type expeller where the Castor seed after cleaning is fed to cooking chamber and seeds are then heated with direct as well as indirect steam. Seeds are then crushed by screw type expeller. Commercial oil comes out, due to high pressure and heat and a little dark color oil is obtained. In this process castor cake is also obtained which has an oil content of around 8 to 10%. Cake is further processed in solvent extraction plant to recover the remaining oil from the cake.
Solvent Extraction
Solvent Plant Capacity at Gokul Overseas is 325 TPD. Castor cake obtained from expellers is fed into the solvent extraction plant to recover the remaining oil. In the solvent extractor hexane is sprayed through the cake to extract the oil content (8 to 10%) out of the cake. Once the oil is recovered from the Castor cake then remaining part is known as Castor De-oiled cake, which is used as fertilizers.
Refining
Refining capacity at Gokul Overseas – 250 TPD
The commercial Castor oil is then charged to Bleacher for further purification and Purified by adding Bleaching Earth and activated carbon under vacuum and heat, once the process complete the oil is filtered with help of pressure leaf filter to remove carbon and Bleaching Earth added. The filtered oil is light in color and called B.S.S. Grade Castor
